PHU XUAN UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATES IN THE ASEAN GREEN JOBS FORUM 2025 IN MALAYSIA

On September 27–28, 2025, the ASEAN Green Jobs Forum 2025 took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the theme “Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization, and Green Jobs: Preparing Skills and Talent for ASEAN’s Future.” The conference brought together nearly 60 representatives from training institutions, research organizations, and businesses from 9 countries in the East Asia and ASEAN regions, to share experiences and initiatives for promoting vocational education linked to labor market realities.

Hosted by Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), with support from the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and the Government of Australia through the Aus4ASEAN Futures Initiative, this regional event attracted the participation of more than 450 senior officials from the labor, environment, education, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), youth, and economy sectors, policymakers, industry leaders, education providers, and social partners from the ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Australia, both onsite and virtually. The Forum was also attended by representatives of Timor-Leste as an observers.

Phu Xuan University had one representative invited to attend the Conference, Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien – Director of the Institute for Development Cooperation, Vice Chairwoman of the University Council.

The event emphasized the importance of ASEAN’s model of cooperation and consensus-building in advancing the ASEAN agenda, and cited regional progress on initiatives such as the ASEAN Power Grid and cross-border payments.

Over the course of ten sessions at the forum, participants explored various topics such as opportunities for green and digital transformation in key value chains, dived into real-world case studies to ground policymaking, and touched upon innovative partnerships and scalable models adaptable across the ASEAN region. The exchanges reinforced ASEAN’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth, ensuring workers and enterprises can thrive amid digital transformation and the evolving green economy.
