Introducing DIGI:ĐỔI – The “Digital Transformation Consortium” Solution Reaches Widely to the System of Universities and Colleges Nationwide.
On January 5, 2023, a representative from Phu Xuan University presented the paper on the Digital Transformation Solution “DIGI:ĐỔI – Digital Transformation Consortium, Expanding a Sustainable Digital Transformation Ecosystem for Vietnamese Higher Education” at the Seminar “Digital Transformation at Universities and Colleges: Current Status and Solutions”. The seminar was organized by the Hanoi University of Industry in collaboration with the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges (AVUC).

Buổi tọa đàm là bức tranh tổng thể về thực trạng chuyển đổi số tại các cơ sở giáo dục đại học, cao đẳng trên toàn quốc. Đồng thời, nhấn mạnh chuyển đổi số là công cụ quản trị của một cơ sở giáo dục đại học tiên tiến, là giải pháp đột phá trong cải cách hành chính.
Attendees at the seminar included:
– Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Nhi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC), former Deputy Minister of Education and Training;
– Dr. Le Viet Khuyen, VACC Vice Chairman in charge of expertise; Head of the VACC Professional Committee; representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Propaganda Department, universities, colleges, and businesses.
– Along with representatives from the Hanoi University of Industry and universities and colleges participating to present papers on digital transformation.
The seminar listened to the reports of 05 papers and several contributing opinions from experts and managers with extensive experience in digital transformation efforts at educational institutions. Among them, DIGI:ĐỔI is a project that provides a sustainable digital transformation solution for higher education in Vietnam on a national and international scale, carried out by reputable domestic and international organizations: Vietnam Association of Universities and Colleges (AVU&C, Vietnam), JISC technology and digital transformation organization (UK), The Open University (UK), DLCORP technology company (Vietnam), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (Indonesia) along with education and technology experts in the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

Phu Xuan University is proud to be the only Vietnamese university co-leading the project with Liverpool John Moores University (UK).
Presenting the paper, Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien – Rector of Phu Xuan University shared: “The project is the result of research by a team of expert consultants with more than 10 years of experience in successfully assisting many schools with digital transformation. We hope that in the coming time, DIGI:ĐỔI will create a significant change in the community of staff, lecturers, and students in building digital transformation capacity.”

Digital transformation in education involves the application of advanced technologies to enhance the learner experience; improve teaching methods, and create the most convenient learning environment. DIGI:ĐỔI answers the question of how to achieve sustainable digital transformation for higher education in Vietnam? The project’s goal is to build a future-proof digital transformation center in Vietnam; capable of large-scale development and replication; based on integrated digital transformation; for the goal of prosperous and sustainable development and contributing to Net Zero CO2 emissions.

“DIGI:ĐỔI” project will officially kick off in January 2023. With an implementation vision from 2023-2025 and creating long-term sustainable impact, DIGI:ĐỔI is student-centric through a project-based training methodology, while also providing digital transformation models, mentoring, training, and practical application programs for Vietnamese Universities, as well as creating a ripple effect in the ASEAN region and the UK.
