On December 15, Phu Xuan University held a training cooperation signing ceremony with Lithan Institute Singapore, opening up opportunities for students to pursue international bachelor’s and master’s degrees right in Thua Thien Hue.
The highlight of the signing program is that students can work-study and get paid. Students will have the opportunity to work at domestic and foreign companies and enterprises. This is an important “handshake” of cooperation, opening up opportunities to experience international bachelor’s and master’s programs for PXU students.
Attending the working session, from Lithan Institute, Singapore, were Mr. Leslie Loh – CEO, Mr. Joel Chow – Managing Director International, along with department directors. From Phu Xuan University, there were Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien, Dr. Tran Truyen Tuan – Head of the Academic Affairs Department, along with department and faculty heads and students. The program was held in a hybrid format (both in-person and online).
Opportunity to pursue international bachelor’s and master’s degrees
The combined program between Phu Xuan University and Lithan Institute, Singapore, is a practical university program combined with digital transformation in the education platform during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. Coming to the program of Phu Xuan University and Lithan Institute, Singapore, students will be trained under an advanced applied system, with the program taught directly by leading experts in the fields students choose.
According to the signed content, Phu Xuan University students will have the opportunity to study international bachelor’s and master’s programs. The highlight of the signing program is that students can work-study and get paid. Students will have the opportunity to work at domestic and foreign companies and enterprises.
Details of the training program
In the program, students will spend about the first 12 months, equivalent to about 2000 hours, studying in an intensive skills boot camp, and from the 2nd year onwards, students will work full-time and study part-time (about 5 hours a week) with international organizations and corporations.
Throughout the first year of study, students will be taught how to create CVs, apply for interviews, and negotiate salaries with employers. Throughout the next 3 years, students will participate in company projects where they have been recruited and will have KPIs closely monitored in practice. The most important thing is that this internship is paid, with a minimum level of 6000 USD over 3 years of study and up to 16,000 USD depending on ability and development roadmap when students interview with employers.
In addition, this program is guaranteed by Educlaas that students will certainly get a paid internship and will have certifications as well as internship confirmations and labor contracts so students can confidently apply for jobs after graduation. In fact, Lithan’s program has been applied in countries like Myanmar and Malaysia, where students have earned double the tuition fees paid, and after graduation, statistics have shown that students earn 3 times the income compared to students studying at regular universities.
At the master’s level, students will receive a master’s degree awarded by the University of Roehampton, London, UK, which is valid worldwide and recognized in Vietnam. The University of Roehampton is a prestigious university ranked in the top 10 universities in London and top 50 in the entire UK.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien said that Phu Xuan University always provides training linked to business needs to ensure student outcomes meet labor market demands, while also developing training cooperation according to international standards, enhancing training quality, and strengthening Phu Xuan’s position in the integration period.
