The project will be carried out from August 2025 to October 2025 and is funded by the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF). It is led by Liverpool John Moores University (UK) and implemented directly by the Institute for Partnership Development of Phu Xuan University. The project aims to investigate the real-life tourism experiences of people with disabilities in Hue, thereby establishing a scientific database and proposing solutions and policy recommendations to promote accessible tourism. Through this effort, the project seeks to ensure that all visitors to Hue can enjoy a convenient, safe, and equitable travel experience.

The project has received strong support and active participation from the community, including representatives of organizations and agencies such as the Hue Department of Culture and Sports, the Hue Deaf Association, the Association of Persons with Disabilities in Hue, as well as accommodation and service businesses such as Lavin Home, Dat Anh Hotel, and LaVela Hotel.
To ensure effective implementation, the research team conducted a comprehensive analysis of documents and policies related to accessible tourism at both the national and local levels; designed survey and interview questionnaires for persons with disabilities, businesses, and relevant authorities; and developed a set of criteria for assessing tourism infrastructure in Hue with a focus on accessibility. In addition, the team carried out field surveys at various locations across the city, organized expert interviews, and worked directly with groups of persons with disabilities to collect practical data. All information was then consolidated, analyzed, and compiled into the final report.
The project holds significant importance for the sustainable and inclusive development of tourism in Hue. By assessing current conditions, mapping accessibility, building datasets, and proposing improvement solutions, the project aims to make a meaningful contribution to the journey of transforming Hue into a more friendly, inclusive, and accessible destination for all.
