HOSTING AND SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP STUDENTS AT PHU XUAN UNIVERSITY (PXU)

Within the framework of academic cooperation and exchange with international partner universities, Phu Xuan University (PXU) implements the Program for Hosting International Internship Students in Vietnam. The program is organized by the Office of International Relations in coordination with functional units within the university, aiming to provide international students with a diverse practical – academic – cultural experience environment right in the heart of Hue city.

I. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • Enhance academic exchange and cultural connection between international students and PXU students.

  • Provide practical internship environments at partner enterprises, organizations, and units of the university.

  • Equip students with professional skills, practical mindset, and work experience within the Vietnamese context.

  • Expand international cooperation activities and enhance the university’s image with regional partners.

II. PROPOSED INTERNSHIP PROGRAM CONTENT

1. Initial Orientation & Introduction

  • Welcome at Phu Xuan University.

  • General introduction to the university structure, exchange program, and regulations for international students.

  • Guidance on living, safety, and local culture.

2. Professional and Practical Activities

Students will engage in activities aligned with their major and the requirements of the partner university, including but not limited to:

  • Experiencing the working environment at a partner enterprise or unit of PXU.

  • Observing and participating in actual professional processes (business, tourism, marketing, technology, management, etc.).

  • Participating in specialized workshops and seminars organized in coordination by lecturers and businesses.

  • Academic exchange with PXU students.

3. Cultural Exchange Activities

  • Visiting cultural heritage sites and prominent landscapes of Hue.

  • Experiencing community activities, cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges.

  • Connecting with PXU’s International Student Club.

4. Program Assessment & Summary

  • Final report according to the regulations of the sending university.

  • Evaluation from the supervising lecturer and internship enterprise.

  • Issuance of a program completion certificate (if requested).

III. FACILITIES, LIBRARY, AND PROPOSED ACCOMMODATION

1. Phu Xuan University Campuses

2. University Library

The Open Library is dedicated not only to the staff, lecturers, and students of Phu Xuan University but also to the general community. In addition to hard copy books, the library provides free Wi-Fi service for Internet research and an electronic library that is currently under development.

The library also runs a “GIVE & TAKE” activity – donating some of the library’s books to readers & accepting book donations from readers to enrich the knowledge pool for the community and academic/research activities. Library address: 1st floor, Campus Building, Campus 2, Phu Xuan University, 176 Tran Phu Street, Hue City.

3. Accommodation

International students participating in the program will be arranged to reside at the Dormitory Area – Phu Xuan University (Campus 3). The dormitory is fully equipped with amenities: Wi-Fi, common living area, 24/7 security, and a green – clean – safe environment.

IV. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUPPORT

1. Office of International Relations (OIR)

  • Coordinates the entire internship program.

  • Supports immigration procedures, residency papers, and administrative guidance.

  • Connects students with businesses and internship units.

2. Supervising Lecturers / Staff

  • Provides professional and local language (Vietnamese) support according to the student’s field of study.

  • Monitors internship progress, supports the resolution of arising issues.

V. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND PROCEDURES

To ensure a smooth admission process, the student/sending unit needs to provide:

  • List of students participating in the program

  • Passport copy and visa application documents (if required).

  • Official letter requesting internship placement from the partner university to PXU.

  • Information on arrival time – internship duration – departure time from Vietnam.

  • Special requirements (if any).

The OIR will guide specific steps immediately upon receiving the application dossier.
