Digi:Đổi Workshop “Building a Roadmap and Strategy for Digital Transformation in Vietnamese Higher Education”

(Within the framework of the Digi:Đổi project) On May 26, Phu Xuan University collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) to organize the Workshop “Building a Roadmap and Strategy for Digital Transformation in Vietnamese Higher Education”. This meaningful activity belongs to the DIGI:ĐỔI Project – Digital Transformation Consortium in Vietnamese Higher Education, sponsored by the British Council, with Phu Xuan University coordinating the operation alongside Liverpool John Moores University – United Kingdom.

The DIGI:ĐỔI Project – Digital Transformation Consortium in Vietnamese Higher Education, sponsored by the British Council, officially launched in January 2023. In Vietnam, Phu Xuan University is the co-coordinating unit alongside Liverpool John Moores University (UK). The project’s vision for the 2023–2025 period is to bring long-term, student-centered impact to collaboration and foster development through a project-based learning approach.

In Vietnam, Phu Xuan University has organized many meaningful events and workshops, gathering numerous businesses, educational managers, and colleges, and universities nationwide.

Digi:Đổi Workshop “Building a Roadmap and Strategy for Digital Transformation in Vietnamese Higher Education” attracts positive feedback.

On May 26, 2023, Phu Xuan University collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education to co-organize the Workshop “Building a Roadmap and Strategy for Digital Transformation in Vietnamese Higher Education”. This program is part of the series of DIGI:ĐỔI workshops implemented to develop and build a suitable Digital Transformation roadmap for Vietnamese universities.

The workshop saw the participation of over 130 direct attendees and 70 online attendees from more than 40 universities, colleges, and businesses nationwide… Ten reports were noted, sharing activities and results in the digital transformation journey of the participating universities. Alongside this were discussion sessions to draw conclusions about the digital transformation roadmap and strategy in Vietnamese higher education through reports from the universities.

Report from Phu Xuan University representative at the Digi:Đổi Workshop

Representative of the project leader on the Vietnamese side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dong, Vice Rector of Phu Xuan University, presented a report on the project’s activities from January 2023 to the present. Delegates also shared experiences from the project following the visit and work session with Liverpool John Moores University and the digital transformation workshop in the UK from April 23-27, 2023. On behalf of the project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dong announced and shared the plan for the project’s activities in Vietnam over the next 03 months and called on Vietnamese universities to implement the principle of co-creation by jointly participating in surveys and piloting the framework model along with the tools being implemented in the UK from the JISC organization.

The workshop also heard presentations and feedback on many Digital Transformation proposals from universities, colleges, and businesses nationwide. The discussion sessions were vibrant, covering strategies and roadmaps for digital transformation, noting that each institution would have different roadmaps and strategies. Delegates also proposed participation in applying the digital transformation model framework as well as suggesting the project organize specialized workshops for more specific discussion of factors in the digital transformation process.
