Continuously expanding international cooperation, building a multinational training environment, and creating generations of global students; on the morning of October 3rd, Phu Xuan University welcomed and worked with representatives of Youngstown State University, USA (YSU) – one of the prestigious schools listed by Forbes in the list of “America’s Top Colleges.”

Attending the working session were:
- Mr. Nathan Robert Myers – Associate Director of International Admissions, YSU;
- Ms. Tien Le – In-country Recruitment Coordinator for YSU in Vietnam;
- Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien – President of Phu Xuan University;
- Lecturers who are heads of departments, faculties, and divisions at PXU

Laying the foundation for this cooperation, YSU representatives highly appreciated the improvements in Phu Xuan University’s practical training program. Dr. Hanh Tien, the university’s President, shared the vision for cooperation between the two units in the coming time; at the same time, she emphasized that PXU will always be open and ready for exchange opportunities for students.

Some promising proposed programs to be promoted by both units in the near future include:
► Foreign language training pathway from basic to advanced with experts at YSU for Phu Xuan students.
► Short-term study and internship exchange program in the US: here, students will participate in studying at YSU, then have time to intern and work in the US.
► This is an opportunity to open up global experiences and mindsets for PXU students, honing knowledge, skills, working experience, and cultural exchange in a multinational environment.

Accompanying Phu Xuan students, YSU also proposed many policies such as:
► Scholarships and financial support up to $5,000 – $6,000/year.
► Incentives with tuition fees assessed as the most reasonable compared to public universities in the US.
► Many support policies regarding accommodation, dormitories, and travel during the study process.
Mr. Nathan Robert Myers also had a meeting to share about the US educational environment and culture with PXU students.
Through this working session, the two units are actively promoting and accelerating the discussion process, moving towards signing a memorandum of understanding in the near future.
