
The project “Empowering Ethnic Minority Youth in Vietnam to Re-Vision the Future of Decent Work (“Re-WORK”)” has been officially approved by the British Academy. Phu Xuan University is named one of the four key partners in this international research initiative.
Dr. Ho Thi Hanh Tien, Rector of Phu Xuan University, is a core member of the project team, representing the university alongside Professor Tony Wall from the University of Chester, UK, who serves as the project’s lead manager. The partnership also includes Dr. Ngo Hang Nga from Tay Bac University and Dr. Luong Minh Phuong from Hanoi University.
The project has been granted a budget of £266,077 (approximately 7.5 billion VND). The initiative is scheduled to commence in March 2020 and conclude in December 2021.
The main objective of the Re-WORK project is to enhance the employability of ethnic minority students in disadvantaged areas that are prioritized for socio-economic development by the Vietnamese government. Re-WORK is an interdisciplinary and innovative research project dedicated to improving the livelihoods/employment and social lives of ethnic minority youth in Vietnam. The research aims to foster collaboration among relevant stakeholders, creating opportunities for these marginalized students to share their aspirations with policymakers and researchers. This engagement is intended to inform the development and refinement of equitable and effective employment policies.
